The word Bantu is based on the reconstructed proto- Bantu term for “people” or " humans" The word was coined from the plural noun class prefix *ba- categorizing “people”, and the root *ntu- “some ( entity)”. Often uesd in a more philosophical sense to mean “the believe in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity”.
